Angel Yeast sends emergency relief to Myanmar following earthquake tragedy
In the wake of a devastating 7.9-magnitude earthquake in Myanmar, Angel Yeast Co. has delivered emergency supplies to affected regions, reinforcing its commitment to international humanitarian response efforts. The relief shipment, organized through the Myanmar Chinese Chamber of Commerce, arrived in devastated areas on 9 April.
The earthquake, which struck the Mandalay region on 28 March, has resulted in 3,645 confirmed deaths and 5,017 injuries, according to a statement from the News and Information Team of Myanmar's State Administration Council. In response, the United Nations has issued a global call for emergency assistance as survivors face critical shortages of medical care, clean water, shelter, and basic necessities.
Angel Yeast was among the first companies to coordinate and deliver aid on the ground. Its shipment included medical kits, water purification systems, and tents to help support immediate relief operations. The company noted that it remains closely involved in monitoring the situation and stands ready to provide further assistance.
“Angel Yeast integrates social responsibility into its core values and strategic vision,” the company said in a statement. “Contributing to the welfare of society is a fundamental aspect of the company’s identity and mission.”
In addition to emergency support, Angel Yeast emphasized its broader commitment to global health and sustainability. With operations across multiple continents, the company also leads initiatives in alternative proteins to help combat global protein shortages and promote sustainable nutrition.
The company is urging the international community and all sectors of society to stay engaged in the ongoing recovery and reconstruction process in Myanmar.
