Beyond Meat steps into functional drinks with Beyond Immerse protein beverage

January 15, 2026

Beyond Meat expanded its portfolio beyond meat alternatives on 15 January 2026, with the launch of Beyond Immerse, a plant-based protein drink designed to deliver hydration, nutrition, and functional benefits in a ready-to-drink format. The move marked the company’s entry into the functional beverage category as it explored new ways to apply its plant protein expertise outside traditional center-of-plate products.

Beyond Meat launched Beyond Immerse, a plant-based protein drink combining protein, fiber, antioxidants, and electrolytes, sold via its Beyond Test Kitchen platform.
The drink debuted in three flavors and two formats, delivering either 10g or 20g of protein per 12 fl oz serving, each with 7g of fiber.
The launch marked Beyond Meat’s expansion beyond meat alternatives into the functional beverage category.

Beyond Immerse debuted in three flavors: Peach Mango, Lemon Lime, and Orange Tangerine. The drinks were offered in two formulations per flavor, one containing 10g of protein with 60 calories, and another delivering 20g of protein with 100 calories. Each serving also contained 7g of fiber, vitamin C, antioxidants, and electrolytes, and was made without GMOs or sugar alcohols.

The product was launched for a limited time exclusively through Beyond Test Kitchen, the company’s direct-to-consumer platform designed to give consumers early access to new products and experimental concepts. Beyond Meat described the platform as a destination for limited releases and a testing ground for future innovations.

“With Beyond Immerse, we are bringing our pioneering expertise in unlocking the power of plants to a functional beverage line,” Ethan Brown, founder and CEO of Beyond Meat, said. “Our intent is simple: immerse the consumer in the remarkable nutrition of plants from protein to fiber, with the addition of antioxidants and electrolytes, all in a single refreshing and satisfying 12 fl oz drink. Beyond Immerse has been specially and carefully designed to provide nutrients that are critical to muscle health, gut health, and immune function, so that whatever the goal is, consumers can Go Beyond.”

Beyond Meat said Beyond Immerse was formulated using protein derived from peas and fiber sourced from tapioca. The company highlighted protein as essential for supporting muscle health, fiber as critical for gut health, and vitamin C as a key antioxidant supporting immune function. Electrolytes were included to support hydration, positioning the drink for consumers seeking functional nutrition in beverage form.

The launch reflected Beyond Meat’s broader efforts to diversify its product portfolio amid changing dynamics in the plant-based food sector. While the company built its brand around plant-based meat analogs, Beyond Immerse extended that focus into adjacent categories linked to health, wellness, and convenience.

Functional beverages have become an increasingly competitive space, with consumers seeking products that combine protein, hydration, and added nutritional benefits. By entering the category with a plant-based formulation, Beyond Meat emphasized fiber alongside protein, a combination that remains less common in ready-to-drink protein beverages.

Beyond Meat made clear that Beyond Immerse was introduced as a limited release rather than a full retail rollout. The company said the Beyond Test Kitchen platform allowed it to gather consumer feedback, assess demand, and refine new concepts before considering wider distribution.

Beyond Test Kitchen has previously been used by the company to introduce early-stage products and limited-time innovations. Beyond Meat encouraged consumers interested in future launches to follow its social media channels and subscribe to its newsletter for updates.

By moving into functional beverages, Beyond Meat continued to test how its plant-based nutrition capabilities could translate beyond meat alternatives. The Beyond Immerse launch underscored the company’s interest in experimenting with new formats while remaining focused on protein, health, and plant-based ingredients.
