DMC Biotechnologies adds fermented myo-Inositol to ingredient lineup

May 8, 2025

DMC Biotechnologies has announced the commercial availability of fermented myo-inositol, adding a new bio-based compound to its growing portfolio of fermentation-derived ingredients for the food, beverage, and dietary supplement sectors.

The Colorado-based company says the launch reflects its commitment to supporting “long-term supply resilience and environmental stewardship”, in line with mounting demand for sustainable and traceable alternatives to conventionally synthesized ingredients.

“We’re proud to bring fermented myo-inositol to the market as a cleaner, more responsible alternative to traditional synthetic production methods,” said Jim Flatt, CEO of DMC Biotechnologies. “This is part of our broader strategy to deliver ingredients that support long-term supply resilience and environmental stewardship.”

Myo-inositol, a naturally occurring compound found in both plants and animals, is already widely used in nutritional products. But as consumer expectations continue to shift toward clean-label and environmentally responsible sourcing, DMC’s fermentation-based approach aims to meet industry needs with a solvent-free, globally scalable, and lower-impact production method.

Unlike conventional synthesis, DMC’s process avoids harsh chemicals and supports a more transparent supply chain, according to the company. This positions it as an appealing alternative for manufacturers seeking cleaner formulations and improved sustainability credentials.

“This launch strengthens DMC’s position as a trusted supplier in the global nutrition market,” the company said in its announcement, “while advancing the goal of making better ingredients available to formulators and manufacturers worldwide.”

DMC Biotechnologies specializes in high-purity, precision fermentation ingredients. The company’s broader mission focuses on enabling sustainable biomanufacturing solutions that scale with global demand.
