Lallemand shines spotlight on yeast protein at IFT First with Engevita HiPRO Beyond and Vitality
Lallemand Bio-Ingredients will showcase the potential of yeast-derived proteins at IFT First 2025, taking place in Chicago from 14-17 July, with a focus on its flagship ingredient Engevita HiPRO Beyond. The Montréal-based company’s Savory Ingredients division will highlight its latest innovations at booth S1234, presenting functional solutions for the growing market of plant-based and high-protein food applications.
At the core of the presentation is Engevita HiPRO Beyond, a non-GMO, complete vegan protein that delivers up to 80% protein content and contains all nine essential amino acids. Designed for use in high-protein snacks, beverages, meat alternatives, and baked goods, the ingredient offers a mild flavor and light color, making it easy to incorporate into a range of products without compromising taste or appearance.
Lallemand will also host a session on the Taste of Science stage, scheduled for 15 July at 2:30pm. Titled Unlocking the Future of Food Industry: Lallemand Bio-Ingredients Unveils the Yeast Protein Potential, the session will explore market trends in alternative proteins, the nutritional and functional benefits of yeast protein, and specific applications of Engevita HiPRO Beyond. The presentation will also introduce Vitality and Adventure, two additional ingredients developed by Dutch startup revyve and distributed by Lallemand in North America.
Vitality, in particular, brings key functional properties such as texturizing and binding to the table, helping formulators develop egg-free and allergen-friendly products. Together, Engevita HiPRO Beyond and Vitality aim to address both nutritional demands and technical challenges in product development.
“IFT is where the future of food comes into focus – and yeast protein is a major part of that future,” said Bob Villeneuve, Global Sales Director at Lallemand Bio-Ingredients. “We’re excited to share how Engevita HiPRO Beyond and Vitality empower food manufacturers to meet demand for sustainable, functional, and protein-rich ingredients.”
As interest grows in alternative proteins and clean-label solutions, yeast-based ingredients are gaining attention for their versatility, digestibility, and minimal environmental impact. Engevita HiPRO Beyond, for instance, positions itself as a viable alternative to animal-derived or highly processed plant proteins, while offering an efficient formulation solution with desirable sensory qualities.
Visitors to Lallemand’s booth can engage with the company’s technical and commercial teams, explore product demos, and gain firsthand insights into how yeast proteins can support innovation in a range of food categories. The company’s presence at IFT First underscores its commitment to advancing functional ingredients that align with both consumer preferences and industry needs.
