ProVeg Incubator Demo Day returns with a fresh batch of food-tech pioneers

July 21, 2025

ProVeg Incubator’s Demo Day is back this fall, offering an inside look at some of the most promising food-tech startups from around the world. Scheduled for 18 September 2025 at 15:30 CET, the event will showcase 10 cutting-edge companies from the incubator’s 13th cohort, giving attendees a front-row seat to the latest in sustainable food innovation.

Held as a hybrid event, Demo Day will be open to the public via livestream, while a select audience will also attend in person. Whether joining as an investor, industry insider, or food system enthusiast, participants will be able to watch all 10 startup pitches live, interact with founders via the online chat, and vote for their favorite to win the Audience Award.

Demo Day marks the culmination of each ProVeg Incubator cohort, providing founders with a platform to present their ideas to a curated panel of industry experts and a global audience that includes investors, entrepreneurs, corporate innovation leaders, and media. The expert jury – whose members will be announced in the lead-up to the event – will offer immediate feedback and ask targeted questions around each startup’s value proposition, technical readiness, team strength, and market potential.

The startups featured this year come from across Europe, Asia, and the Americas, united by a shared goal of reshaping the future of food. MycoVibes Biotech, based in Poland, is creating biomass-fermented mycoproteins aimed at meat alternatives. Updairy, which operates out of both Brazil and Singapore, is developing whey protein using precision fermentation with filamentous fungi. Austria’s Freundeskreis is turning upcycled apricot kernels into plant-based cheese alternatives, while Canadian startup Profillet is producing a plant-based version of white fish. Also from Canada, Mindful FÜD has created a plant-based alternative to honey.

Planeat, based in Poland, is focused on delivering both plant-based seafood and meats, while Meatless Kingdom from Indonesia is developing Indonesian-style meat alternatives using only plant-based ingredients. In Israel, KaYama Foods is working on a novel plant-based fat, and Finally Foods is using molecular farming to grow casein in potatoes. Brew Bites, from Germany, is turning upcycled plant-based ingredients into protein-rich chunks.

The live pitches will be presented to a global audience that spans the entire food-tech ecosystem. Attendees will be able to engage directly with the founders through live Q&As and network with fellow professionals using the platform’s chat feature. The event is designed not only to give visibility to the startups, but also to foster connections and spark investment conversations.

"Whether you’re an investor scouting for the next big thing or simply curious about where the food industry is headed, seeing these pitches provides invaluable insights into market trends, disruptive technologies, and potential future leaders,” the ProVeg Incubator team wrote in a recent blog post announcing the event.

Participants will also have the chance to vote in real time for the Audience Award and enter a giveaway to win a plant-based prize. All attendees can register for free through Eventbrite.

More detailed profiles of the participating startups can be found on the ProVeg Incubator website.
