GNT showcases plant-based color Innovation with interactive snack experience
GNT is spotlighting how its plant-based EXBERRY colors are helping brands reformulate away from synthetic dyes – without compromising visual appeal.
As regulatory pressures mount and clean-label expectations continue to rise, food and beverage manufacturers across the USA are actively seeking alternatives to synthetic options like Red 3 and other FD&C dyes. GNT’s latest showcase features an interactive snack bar concept that brings this transition to life.
At the center of the experience is 'Color Your Snack Adventure', a hands-on display pairing bold EXBERRY shades with creative seasoning blends. Visitors FT FIRST 2025 (13-16 July, Chicago) can explore sweet and savory snack bases transformed with combinations such as pizza ranch (orange), honey miso (yellow), dill pickle (green), hibiscus chile (purple), and passionfruit orange guava (pink).
“Our build-your-own snack bar is more than a flavor playground – it’s a proof of concept that shows how EXBERRY colors can bring products to life,” commented Alice Lee, Technical Marketing Manager at GNT USA. “As FD&C regulations evolve, we’re helping brands stay ahead with plant-based colors that offer both visual impact and label transparency.”
Made from non-GMO fruits, vegetables, and plants, EXBERRY colors support straightforward label declarations like 'fruit and vegetable juice for color'. Their versatility enables use across a wide range of applications, from snacks and confectionery to beverages and dairy.
GNT has been a pioneer in plant-based color innovation for nearly 50 years, working in close partnership with more than 300 farmers to ensure supply chain transparency and consistency from seed to shelf. The company continues to expand its US manufacturing footprint and provides customers with tailored technical support through its Customer Experience Center in Dallas, North Carolina.
Jeannette O’Brien, VP of Sales & Marketing at GNT USA, said, “At GNT, we go beyond supplying clean-label colors. We collaborate closely with manufacturers to help them succeed at every stage of development and commercialization. With the conversation around FD&C dyes intensifying, we’re uniquely positioned to guide brands through this pivotal moment.”
Throughout the event, attendees will have the opportunity to connect directly with GNT’s technical and application specialists for customized guidance and insights into the future of clean-label color.
