Quorn expands snack portfolio with new protein bites range

Quorn has launched a new range of Protein Bites snack packs, expanding its mycoprotein portfolio into convenient high-protein snacking formats.

Quorn has introduced a new range of Protein Bites snack packs made from mycoprotein.
The products are positioned as high-protein, low-saturated-fat vegetarian snacks designed for on-the-go consumption.
Three varieties have launched initially: Sweet Chilli chicken-style bites, Roasted chicken-style bites, and Cocktail Sausage bites.

The new products are designed as ready-to-eat snacks available in grab-and-go packs, targeting consumers seeking convenient protein-rich foods between meals or for lunchboxes.

The range includes Sweet Chilli vegetarian chicken-style bites, Roasted vegetarian chicken-style bites, and Cocktail Sausage bites. All products are described as high in protein and low in saturated fat, with the Cocktail Sausage snack packs containing 102 calories per pack.

According to the company, the snack packs aim to deliver familiar meat-style formats in smaller, portable portions while maintaining the flavor and texture associated with its mycoprotein-based products.

The Sweet Chilli bites feature vegetarian chicken-style pieces coated in sweet chilli seasoning, while the Roasted version offers a more traditional savory flavor. The Cocktail Sausage bites replicate the format of small sausage snacks in a vegetarian alternative.

Quorn said the products are intended for convenient snacking occasions such as busy days between meals, packed lunches, or on-the-go consumption.

The launch reflects broader growth in protein-focused snacking, with consumers increasingly seeking products that combine convenience with higher protein content and lower saturated fat.

Quorn, which produces meat alternatives using mycoprotein derived from fermentation, has traditionally focused on products designed to replace meat in meals. The introduction of Protein Bites marks an expansion into smaller-format snack products as the company continues to evolve its product portfolio.

The move also follows a wider effort by the brand to highlight nutritional and ingredient simplicity across its range. In 2025, Quorn introduced products positioned as “high protein with no artificial ingredients,” reformulating core lines such as Quorn Mince and Quorn Pieces with simplified ingredient lists while emphasizing attributes including high protein, high fibre and low saturated fat.

At the time, Lucy Grogut, head of brands at Quorn Foods UK, said changing consumer expectations around health and ingredients were reshaping the category.

“Consumers love Quorn, we’re the top meat free brand in frozen with the highest penetration. But the category is evolving,” she said. “Fifty-three percent of UK consumers say healthy nutrition has become more important to them in the last five years, and some shoppers are increasingly conscious of the ingredients in their favourite foods.”

Quorn said the new Protein Bites are now available in chilled aisles at supermarkets.
