The EVERY Company and Huvepharma quadruple OvoPro egg protein production capacity amid 550% order growth

June 16, 2026

The EVERY Company and Huvepharma have announced a major manufacturing expansion that will quadruple production capacity for precision-fermented egg protein OvoPro, as commercial demand for the ingredient continues to accelerate across retail, foodservice, and B2B channels.

• EVERY announced a manufacturing expansion with Huvepharma that quadrupled production capacity for its precision-fermented egg protein, OvoPro.
• The company reported that annual orders secured during the first four months of 2026 equaled 550% of its total order volume for 2025.
• Production will be supported by Biovet AD’s fermentation facilities in Bulgaria, which include more than 9 million liters of installed fermentation capacity.

The expanded agreement builds on an existing partnership between California-based EVERY and Huvepharma, a global pharmaceutical company focused on developing, manufacturing, and marketing human and animal health products. Through its subsidiary Biovet AD, Huvepharma will provide access to large-scale fermentation infrastructure in Bulgaria to support increased production volumes.

According to the companies, the move followed a period of rapid commercial growth for EVERY. During the first four months of 2026, the company secured annual orders equivalent to 550% of its total order volume for the whole of 2025.

EVERY attributed the increase to growing adoption across multiple channels, including national retail distribution through Target and Walmart, alongside rising demand from e-commerce and food-service customers.

The additional manufacturing capacity will primarily be dedicated to OvoPro, EVERY’s precision-fermented ovalbumin protein. Ovalbumin is the primary protein found in egg whites and is widely valued in food manufacturing for its functional properties.

EVERY said OvoPro can serve as both a binding ingredient and a protein-enrichment solution in products including baked goods, snack bars, confectionery, pasta, and other food applications. The company also highlighted operational advantages compared with conventional egg-derived ingredients, including shelf stability of up to 24 months, the elimination of cold-chain storage requirements and transportation, and high purity levels that can improve formulation economics.

Arturo Elizondo, CEO & Co-founder of The EVERY Company, said the expansion reflected increasing market demand for alternative protein ingredients that could deliver functional performance while avoiding some of the supply challenges associated with conventional egg production.

“Scaling to meet the world’s appetite for consistent, stable protein requires more than just great science; it requires world-class manufacturing partners,” said Elizondo. “Huvepharma has been an instrumental partner in our journey from the bench to industrial scale. Quadrupling our capacity today is a direct response to the market’s clear signal: the food industry is ready for egg proteins that deliver parity on performance without the supply chain challenges endemic in the global egg supply chain.”

The scale-up will be supported by Biovet’s fermentation network, which the companies described as one of the largest and most flexible in Europe. The Bulgarian facilities include more than 9 million liters of installed fermentation capacity and extensive expertise in microbial fermentation and downstream processing.

Biovet has traditionally supplied fermentation-based products to customers in more than 100 countries. The company said its experience in industrial-scale manufacturing made it well suited to support the commercialization of food proteins produced through precision fermentation.

“Biovet's fermentation infrastructure serves customers across more than 100 countries. Bringing that capacity to EVERY's protein platform is a natural extension of what we do. We do not just scale processes – we industrialize them. That is the value we bring to this partnership, and the results so far demonstrate it clearly,” said Anguel Jeliazkov, Chief Executive Director of Biovet AD.

The companies reported that the collaboration had already reached steady-state industrial production, with metric tons of product being supplied regularly to customers. The latest expansion is expected to increase output further while also helping to reduce production costs through larger-scale operations.

The announcement also signaled broader ambitions beyond OvoPro. EVERY said the additional capacity would help prepare the partnership for future growth as the company brings additional proteins from its precision-fermentation platform to market.

Founded in Daly City, California, EVERY develops animal-free protein ingredients using precision fermentation, a process that employs microorganisms to produce specific proteins without relying on conventional animal agriculture. The company has focused on ingredients designed to replicate the functionality of animal-derived proteins while offering manufacturers alternative supply options.

Huvepharma has expanded internationally through a combination of organic growth and acquisitions. Its operations span human and animal health products, supported by large-scale manufacturing capabilities across multiple production sites.

The latest capacity increase represents one of the more significant manufacturing expansions announced in the precision fermentation sector this year and reflects growing commercial demand for functional protein ingredients produced through fermentation technologies.
