Those Vegan Cowboys nears €7 million crowdfunding cap within a week

Those Vegan Cowboys has raised €6,707,667.50 (US$7.3 million) in just one week through its public crowdfunding campaign, bringing the precision fermentation company to the final stretch of its €7 million (US$7.6 million) funding cap.

The round offered up to 25.51% equity at a pre-money valuation of €20.4 million (US$22.3 million), adding more than 1,500 new retail shareholders.
The precision fermentation company stated the raise was intended to broaden its community base, not meet urgent liquidity needs, following a €6.25 million external round in December 2025.

Shares were offered at €2.50 (US$2.72) each, with up to 25.51% equity available in the round. The company disclosed a pre-money valuation of €20,439,214 (US$22.3 million).

In a LinkedIn update posted as the round approached its final allocation, the company wrote: “Here we are, at the final 7%. Your last chance to become co-owner of the stainless steel cow.”

The campaign has added more than 1,500 new shareholders in a matter of days, expanding the company’s investor base beyond institutional backers secured in its €6.25 million (US$6.9 million) external funding round announced in December 2025.

“Just a week in, folks, and it looks like we’ve reached our destination,” the company wrote. “Since opening the doors to Those Vegan Cowboys in this one time crowdfunding, we’ve welcomed a strong community of more than 1.500 new shareholders, stepping in to help build on a brighter future for dairy, for cows, for the planet that raised us and well, for every livin’ being on it.”

The company added: “And yes, you bet we’re grateful for that. The last couple of pioneers can enter today. And then, it’s pedal to the metal & eyes on the horizon towards the golden age of cheese. Not as solo travellers. But as a big strong herd.”

Those Vegan Cowboys confirmed that in this funding round, up to €7 million was available. Invesdor acted solely as the technical platform provider facilitating the investment process, while the investment opportunity was marketed exclusively by Those Vegan Cowboys.

The rapid uptake follows the company’s earlier messaging that the crowdfunding initiative was not driven by short-term liquidity needs but by a desire to broaden participation.

“We are not launching this crowdfunding because we urgently need the money. We closed a strong round at the end of last year, which gives us runway for the next two years. Financially, we are in a solid position,” CEO Hille van der Kaa previously stated.

Instead, the campaign was positioned as a way to expand the community backing its precision-fermented casein platform. “We are doing this because we want to build a movement. System change doesn’t happen with a handful of founders and investors. It requires allies. New shareholders who become ambassadors.”

Those Vegan Cowboys produces animal-free casein using microbial fermentation, targeting applications in cheese, chocolate, and sports nutrition. Casein is the key structural protein responsible for the melt and stretch properties of conventional cheese.

The company has previously stated that its cultivated casein is designed to integrate into existing dairy manufacturing systems and that it is progressing toward regulatory clearance in the USA.

The near-complete subscription of the crowdfunding round within days underscores continued retail investor interest in precision fermentation, even as institutional funding across the broader alternative protein sector has tightened.

With the final allocation now closing, the company appears set to complete its public raise well within its targeted window, adding a substantial base of retail shareholders alongside its existing strategic and institutional investors.
